MX Lookup

Enter a domain to see where its email is delivered: the MX records in priority order, the IP addresses each one resolves to, which provider runs them, and anything that would stop mail arriving.

What this does - and doesn’t - tell you

What’s checked
  • The MX records in priority order, and whether the domain has any
  • Whether every MX host resolves to an IP address
  • MX targets that are CNAMEs or bare IPs, both invalid
  • The mail provider behind the records (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho and others)
Worth knowing
  • A sending-only domain is often better with a null MX, which tells the world it doesn't take mail. A domain people write to needs real ones.
  • This reads DNS only. It doesn't connect to the mail server, so it can't tell you whether the server is up right now.
  • For SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX in one report, use the Domain Health Check.
