SPF Record Checker
Enter a domain to read its SPF record the way a receiving server does: every include followed, every DNS lookup counted against the limit of 10, and the problems that turn an SPF pass into a permerror.
What this does - and doesn’t - tell you
What’s checked
- Whether exactly one SPF record exists - two records break SPF
- The real DNS lookup count, following every include and redirect, against the limit of 10
- How the record ends: +all, ?all, ~all or -all
- Deprecated mechanisms (ptr) and records long enough to overflow a DNS response
Worth knowing
- This checks the record, not a specific message. To see how SPF evaluated for one real email, paste its headers into the Email Header Analyzer.
- Only the domain's root TXT record is checked. If you send from a subdomain, check that subdomain.
- Mechanisms like a and mx each count as one lookup. The extra address lookups they cause are limited separately, so this count is the conservative one.
SPF is only one of the records that decide inbox placement. We audit the whole setup and fix what's wrong.
